Bible settings (panel drawer)

When the Bible tab is active, panel settings open in the end drawer. The drawer has two tabs: Bible (text and comparison options for this panel) and Panel (linking, fullscreen, and other panel-wide options). This page covers the Bible tab, which is implemented as the Bible settings list in the app.

The drawer is full-height. Scroll the Bible tab to reach every toggle; compare controls and header database sit below the fold.

  • Segmented buttons for compare mode may wrap; use landscape if you need more horizontal room.
  • Choose / Arrange parallel Bibles open the same dialogs as on tablet and desktop.
Tablet and desktop

On tablet and desktop, you see more toggles at once and the compare row stays readable beside Choose and Arrange.

  • The second drawer tab (Panel) still holds auto-tabs, link targets, and related panel settings—not Bible typography.

Compare Bible translations

At the top, a three-way control sets comparison to Off, Rows, or Columns. When Rows or Columns is on, use:

  • Choose — pick which Bible modules participate in the parallel comparison.
  • Arrange — change order or layout of those modules (depending on module support).

Display and study toggles

Exact labels match the in-app strings; availability depends on the loaded Bible module.

  • Show Strong's numbers — tap words to show Strong's data (subtitle in app: tap a word).
  • Show cross reference icon — verse-level cross-ref affordance when the module supports it.
  • Paragraph mode — paragraph formatting where supported.
  • Two columns mode — two-column verse layout.
  • Bible header — section headings where supported.
  • Show verse numbers — show or hide verse numbers in the text flow.
  • Words of Jesus in red — red letter for words of Christ where encoded.
  • Show translator's notes — translator footnotes in text.
  • Show find-in-dictionaries icon — dictionary shortcut beside verses.
  • Show verse tags — show tags you assigned to verses (see the Verse tags topic).
  • Enable inline commentary — when a verse is selected, list commentaries that have an entry for that verse.

Bible header database

The Bible Header Database row opens a selector for which header data file to use (for example default BHS/WH vs another installed header module). Changing it refreshes header behavior for headings that depend on that database.
